Hi! I am Aruna Arya Gupta. My initial journey into artistic expression started with an undergraduate degree in English literature. But soon I replaced books with threads and fabrics instead, and thus began my dive into the fashion world. I did my fashion design degree from the National Institute of Fashion Design, Kolkata, India. I followed up with MFA at the Academy of Arts University, San Francisco, USA. Subsequently, after a brief stint working at Fashion Houses and with Designers, I started my entrepreneurial journey by opening women's fashion boutique, Miss Simoni and followed by Zastra, in Princeton, NJ, USA.

As a child, while learning history, I recollect fixating on what a particular figure is wearing rather than the societal function that they had played. Often I  wondered whether Gandhi's hand-woven khaki looked more elegant compared to the British soldiers' wearing sophisticated Burberry trench coat. I knew, even as a small girl growing up that I am destined to work in the fashion industry one day. 

Eventually, at this stage in life, after cherishing many awards and forfeits for the same, I understand how consequential it is to find your voice and outlet of expression.  With this in mind, I got interested in writing and telling stories to share my experiences. It has been quite a journey!
